So, you’re getting married, how exciting! And you’re here because you’re wondering if I might be your celebrant. Love that for us.

Hello. Bonjour. Hola. Ciao. Dia dhuit. Kia ora. Namaste. Aloha.

However you say it, welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

First things first, a massive congratulations!

I'll keep this bit brief because, as you'll soon discover, this isn't really about me at all; it's about you, your love story, and creating a ceremony that's every bit as unique as the two of you.

But since you're here, a wee introduction seems only fair.

I'm Sórcha, an accredited Humanists UK wedding celebrant, wife to Ian, mum to Mia Hope, and devoted dogmum to our weeCharlie (who definitely runs the house).

I'm here to make your ceremony the least boring part of your wedding day. I specialise in creating weddings and elopements that are full of heart, humour, personality, and all the moments that matter most.

As someone who thrives on connection (and strong tea), I'm passionate about creating safe, inclusive and affirming spaces where everyone feels seen, celebrated and welcome. Whether you're planning a big party surrounded by hundreds of guests, an intimate elopement, or something beautifully outside the box, I'll work with you to create a ceremony that's unforgettable for all the right reasons.

When I'm not busy creating magical ceremonies for wonderful couples and families, I work in the youth charity sector in learning and development. You'll usually find me enjoying a long walk through the forest, stretching it out at hot yoga, or spending time with my favourite people.

Have a look around, make yourself at home, and if you like what you see, I'd love to hear all about your plans.

This is my husband Ian and I at our own Humanist wedding ceremony back in 2022.

We had a reading from Charlie, walked down the aisle to music by the Black Eyed Peas, shared personal vows, and took part in a handfasting ritual using ribbons in colours inspired by my crayon art business.

That's what I love most about Humanist ceremonies. There are no rules, traditions, or expectations you have to follow (unless you want to!). Instead, you get the freedom to create a ceremony that reflects your personalities, celebrates your story, and feels completely authentic to you.

Because your wedding day should be just that - yours.

Did you know

By choosing a Humanists UK wedding celebrant, not only are you’re signing up for a quality ceremony that’s as unique as you are, your ceremony will help support Humanists UK’s education programmes, creating a more inclusive society for future generations. Not bad for one trip down the aisle.
